Workflow and automation services for sign companies.

SmoothSigns is a workflow and automation agency for sign companies. We don't make signs, and we don't sell digital signage. We connect the tools you already use, take repeat data entry off your staff, and measure the time you get back.

Where sign shops lose time

  • Scattered systems, no IT staff. Quotes, jobs and invoices live in different platforms, and nobody on staff owns making them work together. Much of the process lives in the heads of a few long-time people.

  • Every sign type runs its own workflow. Channel letters, monuments and wayfinding each move through the shop in parallel, and keeping them coordinated takes constant follow-up.

  • The same job gets typed in more than once. A job is entered in the shop software, then again on the project board. Each copy takes time and invites mistakes.

  • Tools built for selling, not producing. Most industry software is strong on site surveys and mockups and weak on production management.

  • Invoicing and collections drag. Older tools and slow vendor support hold up invoices, and staff spend hours on collection calls.

  • Too much to figure out at once. Integrations, SOPs, AI and how to pay for it all arrive together, and AI headlines make it harder to know where to start.

  • Fewer people to do the work. As experienced staff retire, there are fewer hands for the daily work and none left over for improving the process.

How it works

  1. A short discovery call. We learn how your shop runs today, which tools you use, and where time goes. If we're not a fit, we'll say so on the call.

  2. A technical call in plain language. We walk through what can be connected or automated in your shop, what it involves, and what it would change.

  3. A one-shop pilot with baseline metrics. Before we change anything, we record where you start: site surveys, quotes and closed deals on the sales side, and prototype and delivery times in the shop. Then we build, and we measure the same numbers again.

Early offer

The Shop Workflow Pilot

This is our first offer, and we're shaping it with the shops that take part. Pricing isn't published yet. It's set on the technical call, once we know your shop and your tools.

What you get

  • A map of how work moves through your shop, from closed deal to install, written down as simple SOPs your team can follow.

  • A baseline of your sales and shop numbers before anything changes.

  • One working fix in your current tools. For example, an integration between your shop software and your project board, so a job is entered once, or payment links on your invoices so customers can pay directly.

  • A before and after report that turns the hours saved into dollars, using your own numbers.

Why it's worth a call

The outcome:
less re-typing and chasing in the shop, and more time for the work that brings in jobs.
Why it can work for you:
we've built this kind of integration for sign companies before. Integration work for Welch Sign and Bailey Sign saved 10 to 15 hours a week of admin data entry.
How it starts:
we start with one fix you can see working, not a long software rollout.
How much effort it takes from you:
you keep the tools you have. Your part is the two calls, access to your systems, and some time from the people who run each step, so we can map the work and record your baseline. We do the building and measuring.

Questions

Do we have to replace our shop software?

No. We start with the tools you already use and connect them. If a tool can't be connected, we tell you on the technical call.

How much does it cost?

The pilot is an early offer and pricing isn't published yet. We set it on the technical call, once we know your shop and what the first fix involves.

What happens on the discovery call?

A short conversation about how your shop runs and where time goes. You'll know by the end whether a pilot makes sense.

How do you measure results?

We record a baseline before we change anything (site surveys, quotes, closed deals, prototype and delivery times), then measure the same numbers after the fix. Hours saved are turned into dollars using your own figures.

We're not technical. Is that a problem?

No. The technical call is in plain language, and we handle the building.
